VFW Post 2667 gave out awards to Smokey Road Middle School students for their entries in the VFW National Patriot’s Pen Contest. This is a 300-400 word essay based on this year’s theme “How are you inspired by America?”
Student essays are judged on knowledge of theme, theme development and clarity of ideas.

School Winners were:
1st Place Taylor Linch
2nd Place Brooke Bowen
3rd Place Aiden Deal-Williams
These students each received a certificate and an engraved medal.
