Local Scout Donates to Post 2667

Hunter Newton is a 17 year-old junior in Boy Scout Troop 897 at Cornerstone Methodist Church. He has been working on his Eagle Scout Badge and his project was to clean the headstones at Oak Hill Cemetery.  He raised the funds for the materials needed and noted that if all the funding he received was not used, he wanted to donate what was left to VFW Post 2667.

Hunter participated in JROTC at East Coweta High School during his freshman and sophomore year and is currently homeschooled.  Hunter is a member of the Children of the American Revolution and is involved in many patriotic activities.  He attended a recent VFW Post Meeting to donate $400 to the Post to help support our local veterans.  We are honored that he thought of us to make this donation.
