National POW/MIA Recognition Day

Chief Blankenship, members of the Newnan Police Department, and members of the Newnan City Council were honored to join VFW Post 2667 and American Legion Post 57 at the National POW/MIA Recognition Day at the Veteran’s Park today.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day, the third Friday in September, honors U.S. service members who were prisoners of war and those still missing in action from every conflict since, and including, World War II.

Please take a moment today and remember those who never came home and those who were prisoners of war. Never forget.
